Hermosa Boudoir was started back in 2011, while I was an undergrad in college. It's a small handmade jewelry business owned and fully operated just by myself, Carolyn. I'm from the midwest, Illinois to be exact, and I've always had an artistic eye for design. I started making jewelry as a personal hobby and decided to eventually open an online shop.
Here's the story on my inspiration behind developing Hermosa:
Hermosa Boudoir was started due to my desire to see more Swarovski crystal jewelry on American soil.
During my travels in East Asia, Swarovski crystal was seen everywhere- on jewelry, on cell phone covers, and even on their french nail tips! I loved crystal and Asia's obsession with it.
However, when I returned back to Chicago, I could only find crystal designs in high-end boutiques with matching high-end price tags. Disappointed, I decided to experiment making my own creations. My friends and family began to take notice of my designs and encouraged me to sell my jewelry- and thus Hermosa was born!
Now, I run Hermosa as a hobby and outlet for my artistic side. I love working with the beautiful crystals and incorporating them into my line of jewelry.
